Back to Blogger - maybe……..

Well, it has been a long, long time! About six years in fact since I posted anything to this blog.
I, along with so many others, defected to Instagram and I have to sayI loved it for the  first few years.
Recently though I’ve become more and more disenchanted with the bombardment of ads and reels none of which are what I’m really interested to see.
So here I am with the idea of resurrecting my blog. Just as a place to record my makes and, hopefully, visit some of the blogs I used to enjoy that are still active.
Trouble is I’m just so rusty and have just about forgotten everything I ever knew about posting!
So my plan is to keep this post short just while I get back into the swing of it.
So what have I finished of late and what am I working on?
I’m currently working on Winter Rose Manor by Brenda Gervais of With Thy Needle and Thread.
In the first picture you can also see the project bag I sewed up from the fabric panel that Brenda offered
I’m really enjoying this project.

One other thing I finished recently is a zippered pouch using a little cross stitch called Socks on the Line from October House Fiber Arts. This was a fun stitch but I almost ruined it with the rookie error of getting the red thread wet when pressing. It’s not too bad but I’ll be more careful in future

Finally a pair of shortie socks from the Rose City Roller pattern which is free on Ravelry.
So I think that is all for now just til I see if this posts OK.

Lovely to have you back Margaret, I already have your blog saved in my favourites, so hope to see lots more posts in the coming weeks. Winter Rose Manor is coming along a treat.

Very nice that you are back with your blog. Compliments for all your creations. I am not able with sewing even if I like too much fabric dolls.

Your Winter Rose Manor is beautiful! Makes me want to get mine out but we aren't speaking right now...

Cute zippered pouch too. I love a striped binding!

Yay! You've returned, Margaret :) I have similar feelings--in fact I just wrote on my latest blog post on Sunday that blogs will always be my first love. I just don't connect as deeply with folks on Instagram. I love seeing your beautiful work--hope this will be the first post of many! ♥

Lovely to see a return to blogging. I too dislike those ads and other distractions on Instagram. I just want to see the work of others and read their descriptions. But I love blogs and am sorry so many good stitchers and quilters have abandoned that device. I know it is a lot of work, but a blog is just more personal. I hope you can keep it up. As a newly returning stitcher to crossstitch, I would like to know the fabric you are using in each piece and threads and whether it is 2 over 2 or 1 over two, etc., if it is not too much trouble.

Welcome back to blog land. I enjoy Instagram but blogging just gives so much more detail so I love it as I always have. Love your new pouch. So cute! Glad the mistake wasn't too noticeable. That's scary.

Welcome back! I have never used Insta as I don't have the right kind of phone! I've stuck to good old Blogger.
I've got a Blog Hop coming up in February as well as my usual Linky Parties so that's a good way to discover who is still about.
Looking forward to seeing more of your sampler.
