In spite of my good intentions to be a better blogger I haven't had time to post for a while.
It's just that time of year where there is so much to do in the garden but I'm here now with a few pictures of what I've been working on recently.
I'm happy to have a small finish. This is a design by Plum Street Samplers Serial Bowl Collection which I intend to finish as a pillow once I can get to my sewing machine.
I stitched this piece on a piece of 40 ct unknown linen using Classic Colorworks overdyed threads. The small section of over one stitching was a nightmare to do on the 40ct - never again!
Next up some small progress on my Just Nan Needle in a Garden. This is a UFO from way back when and I haven't done as much as I would have liked but any progress is better than nothing right?
I have another finish. This is Spring from a set of four seasonal design kits by Elizabeth's Designs. Everything was included in the kit - linen, charms and overdyed threads. I've been stitching these with Brigitte who also has these kits in her stash and we are now making some progress on the summer one which I will show when it is finished.
Another SAL I'm doing with Brigitte is Houses of Hawk Run Hollow. I started this when the design first came out so it's another ancient WIP.
Here is the progress I've made on the block I'm currently working on.
This is stitched on Pearled Barley linen using the Vikki Clayton silk conversion.
I've been doing some crochet on a little blanket for the next grandbaby which is due early August.
and finally a gorgeous little wall hanging that was made for me by my friend Sheila in Spain
So I think that is all I have for today. I'm way behind in reading and commenting on blogs but hope to catch up in the next day or two.
I hope you are all enjoying your stitching and other crafts. Thanks as always for visiting.
Oh you have really had some stitching time! Looks wonderful! I love the baby blanket. :D Such a unique and sweet gift you received.
you have really lovley finishes and wonderful projects on your needles. The quilt for your friend in spain looks so nice. And of course spring often is not such a good time for sewing...te garden calls every day.
What an unusual wall hanging, very creative. I love the 'Plant the stitches' sewing.
You have been a very busy crafter! I do love anything by Plum Street! Enjoy your time in the garden!
Beautiful finishes Margaret, I love that wall hanging, ever so pretty!
you are very busy. Lovely finishes and works.
So many pretty things! Hats off to you and Brigitte for working on Hawk Run: every once in a while I think I should undertake a large chart like that-then I come to my senses! Good luck with your projects and your garden:)
You've gotten a lot of stitching done! Plus working in the garden - you're one productive lady! :)
Very pretty items there. I don't know how you manage to do all these in a short space of time. I seem to get slower and slower!
Nádhera, very beutiful!
Any progress is good progress and before you know it you will have more UFO's finished. Love the wall hanging from Sheila.
How lovely to see a post from you, Margaret. It always brightens up my day.
I love the PSS finish. It will make such a pretty pillow. Over one on 40ct can be a real challenge. Progress on your JN piece is going well. It's a really lovely design.
Good progress on your SAL's too. I think stitching with a friend really motivates, not that you need much of that nowadays. Your stitching mojo has returned well and truly.
I absolutely love the crocheted blanket. What an amazing really delicate web like design. It's going to look so pretty.
The wall hanging Sheila made for you is absolutely gorgeous. What a lot going on in it and I love the bunting. She's so talented.
Gardening can be really time consuming but the benefits really are satisfying. You'll be sitting sipping cool lemonade and smelling the lavender all through summer :-)
It's always so nice to see a new post from you, Margaret! That Plum Street piece is so pretty and will make a lovely pillow. And your Just Nan WIP is so sweet--I love it! Your gift from Sheila is so charming with the little bunting draped back and forth...
Hope you are having a good May so far!
The baby blanket is so sweet!
Never mind being busy in the garden, you've been busy stitching too. Wonderful stitching and finishing. Over 1 on 40ct!! :) A beautiful wall hanging, unusual with the bunting. Love the crochet baby blanket too. Have a good weekend.
A lot of pretty stitching done Margaret, especially on 40 ct linen- I´d need my magnifying glass for that work. Lovely soft crochet blanket progress and beautiful wall hanging.
Nice to see all of your lovely stitching! I hate over one on 40ct. lol! It's a bear to do! But your finishes are beautiful, and your Just Nan reminds me of how I love her designs -- her samplers especially. Beautiful crochet! Wow, so delicate! Another grandchild on the way -- you must be thrilled! Love the gift from your friend too!
OH Margaret, what a wonderful little finish you have here. I love Plum Street Sampler and every once in a while I start one of her designs, too. It's always fun. I also love stitching on 40 ct fabric but have never done any over one stitching on it. It must be a real pain.
Our SALs are coming along so great, aren't they? It always makes me so happy to see the progress on the pieces we stitch together.
A gorgeous wall hanging that Sheila made for you.
Your blog is very impressive and have the useful information it is really caught my attention.
good job Beautiful! :)
Great finish, over one on 40count is tough! Your other projects are looking lovely and Sheila's wall hanging is gorgeous
