A Redwork Apron

Here are a few pictures of my latest apron finish.
I used Judie Rothermel fabric from the Classic Black Collection 1870-1890 and stitched a cute redwork design on both pockets. I used DMC 498 for the stitchery and a pattern taken from one of the Aussie quilting and stitchery magazines that I love so much.

Here is a close up of the stitchery I did on both pockets and then trimmed with ric rak braid.

I had a few scraps leftover so did a matching potholder.

This is a close up of the label I stitched for the inside.

The apron was supposed to be for yet another exchange (the third) that has gone wrong. Thankfully I found out before I sent it so now it will go instead to a friend whose husband has been critically ill. She loves aprons and has been through a very rough time for the past few months.
It's such a beautiful day here today that I took the camera out with me while walking.
This picture was taken on my way down to the beach

and two more taken while walking at the waters edge.

Finally I just want to thank everyone who visits my blog for the nice comments that are always such fun to read.
I hope you are all having a beautiful day no matter where you are!

What a beautiful place you live! I have a friend who goes be-annually to visit relatives in Spain. Her husband is from Spain and a charming man.

About the apron swap; so sorry that fell apart. Do you belong to Flickr? They have groups and I know there's one called Apron Swap. They have done 2 so far and I believe they may be revving up for a third.

Sigh..... a bad day at the beach is almost always better than a good day anywhere else. :-) Thanks for sharing those lovely pictures on such a windy, stormy day here!

I love that road. It looks so peaceful. There is nothing like looking out over the water.

Wow! What a nice blog. I have never commented on one so I hope I do okay. Your work is beautiful and the gifts you have received are beautiful themselves. You are a very lucky lady....I don't know what I'd do if I received any gifts like that in the mail. I never have. Your pictures of Spain are wonderful. I too love the beach and would love to live by it one day. Keep up the good work.

What a lovely apron you have created, Margaret! I love that bright red fabric and your redwork is just toooooo cute. And the potholder is adorable. I am sorry that your apron swap went awry but somebody (the apron recipient) is really lucky that it did. LOL

Your surroundings are lovely and it must be wonderful to have such a paradise right outside your door.

Thank you for visiting my blog! It was beautiful with the red work on the apron. You asked me where I got the pattern for the house block, it is from a Norwegian stitch along, you can find the pattern here:
