I made an apron!

I spent the best part of today making an apron as I'd (rather rashly) signed up to do an apron exchange a few weeks ago with my quilting group.
Although I enjoyed sewing when my kids were small the only apron I've ever made was at school when we had to sew our cookery aprons and matching caps :)
I'd emailed my apron partner for her preferences but didn't get a reply so I just did my own thing basing the design loosely on a pattern I'd seen in one of the Australian Patchwork and Stitching magazines.
I did the stitchery using white Kona Snow fabric with two strands DMC 797.
The fabric is from one of the Mary Engelbreit lines. I had enough fabric left over and would have loved to have made a matching potholder but didn't have the special insulated wadding needed to make it heat resistant.
I really enjoyed making the apron and now I want to make one for my daughter using this cute cupcake fabric I've seen on eBay.

Margaret the apron you made is beautiful! The embroidery is very pretty, and you did a just perfect job of everything. Like the little label too. I'm sure the time spent in the kitchen will be very cheerful wearing this!

OH MY GOODNESS!! I LOVE that apron! It is gorgeous. I hope you are making one for yourself too. The cupcake fabric is perfect for an apron!!! I am inspired to make another apron, only not with a curved bottom...that was tedious.

Well Margaret,
Your talents continue to amaze me :>) That apron is just gorgeous. I love the fabric and the style but especially, I love the stitched border on the pocket. It's so distinctive. It brought back long ago memories for me too. We had to make an apron in school and I made a terrible job of it. I can't believe I used to hate sewing in school.
The cupcake fabric is so pretty and is very retro!
Warm hugs, Angela

I love the blue apron!! Excellent job M.M.. How strange I was just admiring that exact cupcake fabric on a web shop. I stared at it for a long time trying to think of how I could use it. Never did come up with an idea so I ordered other fabrics instead :-) I know DD will love it.

Hi Margaret,

Surely I think that the person who received this apron is pleased. Because this apron is very pretty.
And the cloth of cake is very pretty, too. Your daughter will be pleased, too.
