Stitching, crochet and stash

Hi everyone,
I'm afraid production has been very slow over the past few weeks and if it were not for the generosity of my friends I wouldn't have a lot to show this time.
My lovely friend Sheila surprised me with this dear little pillow. It is stitched over one from the lovely freebie found here and personalized with our initials. I absolutely love it and am especially grateful for it as Sheila has mostly gone over to the "other side" (quilting) and doesn't do a lot of cross stitch these days.

In my last post I showed a picture of the little bunny I stitched. I really, loved that bunny and didn't want to part with it but friend Angela surprised me with a bunny of my own. It is stuffed with lavender and smells heavenly.

Thank you Sheila and Angela you are the best :)

I do have a couple of stitched finishes of my own to share
The first one being the Queen's Diamond Jubilee Sampler from The Sampler Girl

I'm going to Ikea sometime this week and will buy a small white frame for it.

My other finish is from the Blackbird Designs book A Schoolgirl's Work.
This is Hannah's Small Basket from page 76 in the book.

I used a piece of mustard colour silk duponi for the backing and added a key charm

It's been a while since I shared any progress on my granny square afghan. I think I have about 60 squares done now but I will need at least 84 if not more so I still have a way to go.
The colours I am using are Cath Kidston inspired to match the Ikea Rosali bedding you can see in the picture.

What you can't see are the hundreds of ends I have to weave in. Why oh why didn't I do them as I finished each square?
Each little pile of six is a different colour variation.

As I'm short on finishes to show you I will show my latest fabric stash which is destined to turn into a couple of big pillows

and some cross stitch stash from Simone's lovely webshop

So that's it for now.
Thanks as always for taking the time to visit and for your lovely comments.
Margaret

Margaret hi :-)
Even when you say you haven't got much to show you still enchant us with beautiful finishes lovely gifts. Then, as if that isn't enough, you drop hints to tease us with plans of future treats.

Hannah's basket is absolutely gorgeous. I love the way you have finished it with a little key.
The little Stitching Sisters pillow from Sheila is really pretty too. It must be very dainty stitched over one.
I love your stash too but my biggest gasp is for your Jubilee sampler. I plan on stitching that too and seeing yours stitched up has really inspired me.
You are making excellent progress on your lovely CK afghan.
Warm wishes Angela xx

Margaret, I would love to be as "short" on finishes as you are! As usual, you have some very beautiful things to show, it was fun looking!

I love your finishes and just wish I accomplished as much as you. My problem is I find way too many good books at the library! The gifts are lovely too. I think your new stash additions are fun and can't wait to see what you do with them.

I think that you have a lot of lovely work to show. Well done on the Jubilee piece. Tradervic is a Republican so he would have a fit if I stitched such a piece - lol! Not that that would stop me - just have lots of other projects on the go already.

Ha ha--love your saying Sheila has "gone over to the other side," Margaret--too funny :) She and Angela made such adorable gifts for you!

Your Jubilee stitching is such a nice reminder of that historic occasion--we even had good coverage of it here in the States... Love Hannah's basket and that beautiful backing fabric...

Enjoy your day :)

Lovely finishes and lovely gifts too. Love the crochet -- it matches the Cath Kidston perfectly too! (Don't you hate the ends? lol!) Great stash too! Seems to me you had a lot to show off!

I think the afghan is going to look fabulous when you are done. But all those ends! That's why I haven't done many granny squares.

Your crochet squares are very pretty!

Oh Margaret, these little gifts are just wonderful. So much thought was put in choosing and stitching them and so much skill in finishing them. Enjoy them! And your own stitching is just the same. I love that pattern commemorating the Queen's jubilee. And the little BBD pillow is just beautiful. BBDs are never disappointing, are they.
Your afghan will be a real beauty with wonderful colours. IsN't there a bag with just the the same colour combination? Very pretty.
