I've been making things for just about as long as I can remember and one of the first things I learned to do was to knit.
I remember knitting and sewing clothes for my dolls at around age seven.
Later we were taught to knit socks at school. I can't tell you how much I hated these lessons as the yarn was a horrible school grey - very coarse and scratchy.
I had major problems turning the heel and had to take the sock home for my mum to help me.
I never imagined I would ever want to knit socks again but with all the fun, self striping yarns on the market these days I was lured back to the challenge of knitting socks.
This is not my first pair but the first I've finished since setting up this blog.
I have a tendancy to start off with great enthusiasm which lasts until I am midway through the second sock. Then the socks lay around the house for a few months while I forget just about everything about the pattern, how many rows etc.
I'm glad these are done and will probably cast on another pair soon.
